ABOUT US
Day1 Health (Pty) Ltd – Practical Medical Insurance
Day1 Health was established in 2003 and pioneered an alternative healthcare solution to conventional medical aid schemes with the ambition of becoming the leading supplier of affordable, quality, medical insurance cover, delivered via a financially more inclusive, accessible model, enabling the majority of persons residing in the Republic of South Africa to access dignified private healthcare benefits.
Since inception, and seventeen years prior to the introduction of the NHI Bill, Day1 Health has always advocated, even in Parliament in 2008, that “healthcare is a right and not a privilege” and should, without exception, be accessible to all South African citizens.
Day1 Health is accredited and approved by both the Council for Medical Schemes (“CMS”) and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (“FSCA”).
Day1 Health complies with the principles of open enrolment, community rating and cross-subsidisation and does not discriminate or refuse membership on the basis of race, age, gender, marital status, ethnic or social origin, sexual orientation, pregnancy, disability, state of health, geographical location or any other means of discrimination.
