What to do in the event of a medical emergency
What is the procedure to follow in the event of a medical emergency
  • Always call ER24: 084 124
  • Tell the ER24 operator that you are a Day1 Health member, they will prompt you or the caller through all the information they require to get help to you.
  • Have your membership card or ID number at hand.
Taking care of your Day1 Medical Insurance ER24 vehicle decal
  • Remove any old medical aid or emergency provider decals from your vehicle(s).
  • Place the vehicle decal on the driver’s side of the vehicle on either the rear window or the small window behind the rear passenger’s window.
  • Don’t place the decal on any window that can wind down.
  • If your decal becomes damaged or faded, please contact Day1 Health on 0876 100 600 to request a new decal.
Useful hints to remember about ER24 and Hospital Pre-Authorisations
  • Teach your family members to call 084 124 in case of an emergency.
  • In an accident, take note of road names and numbers as this will expedite the emergency response.
  • Please store 084 124 under “Medical Emergency” on your cell phone.
  • For hospital pre-authorisation, please contact 0861 144 144. All admissions for both Accident & Illness must be authorised.
